Tamang Heritage Trail Trek provides an experience of cultural Heritage of Himalaya and lifestyle of people residing in that region. It is an exciting new trekking route located between Langtang and the Ganesh himal. The local Tamang people are some of the warmest and most welcoming people in Nepal. The trekking goes through traditional Tamang communities where life, culture and crafts have remained monumental since the establishing of settlement. The trek passes through scenic villages, terraced fields, and calm valleys. Trekker will get to enjoy panoramic mountain views of the nearby peaks and natural hot springs at Tatopani. Moving towards north Tibet trek will soak up the heritage and a local fort, monastery and exquisite local architecture of the Tamang homes. The trek will also get to we enjoy a homestay experience in Briddim.
The trek starts either from Dhunche or Syabrubesi which then passes through Gatlang, Chilime, Thuman, Timure and Briddim. From Briddim vtrek reaches to Khamjim. Goljong and Gatlang which are the tradional Tamang Villges. Goljong has an ancient monastery. From nearby the villages, one can see a panoramic view of Langtang, Kerung, and Ganesh Himal and Sanjen Himal ranges. The trek will visit Tamang Buddhist monastery and also observe the beauty of the Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang. Taking healing bath and spa in the water of the natural hot spring at Tatopani will provide an exhilarating experience.
The trek will take to lush midlands experiencing the beauty of the Himalayan County and the traditions of the local residents. The trek takes to the traditional Tamang communities with warm traditional welcome hosted by the locals with their elaborate costumes and rich architectures of their mountain houses. In addition to the cultural experience, the trek also gets pleased with wilde experience of gorgeous backdrop of alpine landscape, flat pastures and Rhododendron forests.
Day 1: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi
Day 2: Syabrubesi to Gatlang
Day 3: Gatlang to Tatopani
Day 4: Tatopani to Thuman
Day 5: Thuman to Briddim
Day 6: Briddim to Syabrubesi
Day 7: Syabrubesi to Kathmandu
Day 1: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. We have an early departure for the 7 hour drive to our starting point at the foot of the Langtang Valley. Overnight stay in Sybru Bensi.
Day 2: Syabrubesi to Gatlang. After an hour and half of ascent from Syabrubesi we reach the view point from where we can see the fantastic view of Ganesh Himal, Gosainkund range and the Goljang valley. From here we again head down to Goljang valley.
Day 3: Gatlang to Tatopani. The trail will take horizontal move again, first crossing a hanging bridge and climbing to Tatopani which literally means ‘hot water’.
Day 4: Tatopani to Thuman. The trail ascends to Nagthali Danda (3300m), where we stop part way up for lunch at the delightful Brimdang village and will continue ascending up to Nagthali Danda. We then continue down to Thuman, a Tibetan influenced Tamang village with friendly people who love to sing and dance!
Day 5: Thuman to Briddim. The trek descends to Timure on our way along the old trade route to Tibet and stop for lunch. After lunch our trail continues to Briddim.
Day 6: Briddim to Syabrubesi. Our trek now descends down to Syabrubesi which is just 3 hours walk from Briddim.
Day 7: Syabrubesi to Kathmandu. Finally we will return back to Kathmandu.
